University of Mississippi Students Get Ready For Spring Break

With spring break rapidly approaching students will be traveling all over the country to their respective party destinations.
For some students it is their first spring break vacation of their college career, and for others it is their last. Regardless of age, students are cutting loose and taking advantage of the week off from school.
University of Mississippi senior, John Croce is eager to be spending his last spring break on the beach in Florida.
"Spring break just can't get here soon enough, the weather is finally warming up and it's time for a break from school," Croce said.
While most students are looking for a break from school, there are some people who are just looking for a break from the students.
Pi Kappa Alpha house mother, Martha Spraggins, loves the week off from the students because it gives her a chance to relax.
"I am busy with 130 guys all day long throughout the semester, so the fact that I can have a couple of days off not to worry about the Pike house and just relax makes me extremely excited," Spraggins said.
The most popular spring break destination this year for University of Mississippi students seems to be Destin, Fla.
Destin is a relatively cheap spring break destination for college students, and the fact that it is only eight hours away from Oxford makes it the perfect getaway spot.
University of Mississippi freshman, Hayley Johnson is one of the many students heading to Destin next week.
"I can't wait to hang out on the beach everyday next week, Johnson said, this is my first spring break as a college student and I couldn't be happier that it is almost here."
Although a lot of students want to spend their spring break having fun in the sun, many students will decide to take on the cold weather and head to the mountains in Colorado to go skiing and snowboarding.
University of Mississippi senior, Camden Johns will be making the long drive to Colorado for his week off from school.
"For me, spring break is all about taking some time off of school to relax, and I couldn't think of a better place to do that then the beautiful mountains of Colorado," Johns said.
Some other popular spring break getaways this year are Panama City, Fla., Breckenridge, Colo., and various Caribbean cruises.
